US House Passes Short-term Continuing Resolution
The U.S. House of Representatives passed by party line vote the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026. The legislation would avoid a shutdown on Wednesday, Oct. 1, by funding the government through Friday, Nov. 21. The bill would extend the following through Friday, Nov. 21:
- Enhanced Medicare low-volume payment adjustments
- Medicare Dependent Hospital program
- Certain telehealth flexibilities
- Hospital care at home waiver
- Mandatory funding for Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education
- Prevent Medicaid DSH funding cuts
As the continuing resolution crosses chambers, MHA urges the U.S. Senate to pass the legislation.
