RVI Operational Impact Status Reporting Set To Resume Oct. 1

Each year, the Missouri Hospital Association collaborates with hospitals, EMS agencies, local public health organizations, and other state preparedness partners to review the protocols used to report and monitor respiratory virus illness impacts on hospital operations using Missouri's EMResource system.

Following this year's review, no changes to the existing procedures were recommended. Therefore, as in previous years, hospitals are asked to resume seasonal RVI Operational Impact Status reporting within EMResource beginning Thursday, Oct. 1.

While reporting a facility’s RVI Operational Impact Status is not considered a mandatory hospital reporting requirement, the information submitted serves as an important early indicator of operational challenges affecting Missouri hospitals. It also helps identify regional trends and impacts that may warrant additional coordination, response or mitigation efforts. Hospitals are encouraged to review the reporting protocols outlined in the 2026-2027 RVI Operational Impact Monitoring Guidance Document for further information.
