New Missouri Hospital CEOs Meet With Legislators
As part of MHA’s new CEO orientation this week, Missouri hospital leaders learned more about the legislative process and met with their respective state legislators at the Missouri State Capitol.
Deborah Berini, President of SSM Health DePaul Hospital – St. Louis in Bridgeton, Mo., met with state Sen. Brian Williams (D-University City).
Lacey Carter, COO with Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, Mo., and Hope Turner, CEO of Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center in St. Joseph, Mo., met with state Sen. Brad Hudson (R-Cape Fair) on the dais as he presided over the Senate's floor debate.
Hospital executives and lawmakers discussed the importance of access to health care in the appropriate setting and the vital roles that hospitals play in their communities. These opportunities to meet with lawmakers allow hospital leaders to build and continue enhancing their relationships with members of the Missouri Legislature.

The Missouri Hospital Association is a nonprofit association in Jefferson City that represents 136 Missouri hospitals. In addition to representation and advocacy on behalf of its membership, the association offers continuing education programs on current health care topics and seeks to educate the public about health care issues.
