MHA Outlines Key Advocacy Priorities For 2026 State Legislative Session

The Missouri Hospital Association published its 2026 Legislative Guide, which identifies the MHA board-approved legislative priorities for this year’s Missouri legislative session and can inform hospital-based advocacy efforts at the state level. In 2026, MHA’s agenda includes the following areas of emphasis.

• creating favorable operating environments for Missouri hospitals
• evaluating, monitoring and shaping legislation that affects the health care workforce, patient care, liability protections, and holds health plans accountable, while supporting hospital operations
• safeguarding hospitals and the health care system from proposals that would reduce hospitals' ability to deliver on their community-focused missions

MHA staff will continue to monitor all proposals, including any new legislation filed throughout the session, that may impact hospitals and health care.
