Children’s Hospital Leaders Visit Missouri Congressional Delegation

Representatives from Missouri’s children’s hospitals and MHA staff met this week with the Missouri congressional delegation and their staff in Washington, D.C.

During their visit, hospital leaders discussed the importance of continuing to fund the Children’s Hospitals Graduate Medical Education program. Funding for this program helps cover a portion of the cost of training pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists, many of whom will stay and work in the state where they completed their training.

Attendees also shared the importance of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, which supports children being cared for in their hospitals, and the future financial impacts from H.R. 1.

This year’s trip attendees included Ellie Harmon, of St. Louis Children's Hospital; Robert Steele, Dallas Polen and Lisa Horn, all from Children's Mercy Kansas City; and MHA staff Mary Beth Luna Wolf, vice president of legal and legislative policy, and Nate Percy, vice president of children’s health and Medicaid advocacy.
