US Senate Passes Short-term Continuing Resolution

The U.S. Senate passed an amendment to the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026 that would fund the government through Friday, Jan. 30, 2026. The bill would extend the following through Jan. 30.

• enhanced Medicare low-volume payment adjustments
• Medicare Dependent Hospital program
• certain telehealth flexibilities
• hospital care at home waiver
• mandatory funding for the Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education program

The amendment also would prevent Medicaid DSH funding cuts.

The measure is expected to be voted on in the U.S. House of Representatives Wednesday evening.
