State Lawmakers Act on MHA’s SFY 2026 Budget Requests
The Missouri General Assembly today enacted the SFY 2026 budget that includes some noteworthy items requested by MHA.
- $20 million of general revenue support for the FRA fund
- $25 million for enhanced reimbursement for inpatient psychiatric care
- $1.145 million for the ACE Kids program
- More than $74 million in new funding for additional Medicaid waiver slots for individuals with developmental disabilities
- $5 million for the Nurse Education Incentive Program
- $10.7 million for reimbursement for patients boarding in hospitals with behavioral health or developmental disabilities — an increase of $6.7 million over FY 2025 funding
The budget also includes several earmarked capital improvement items for hospitals. Gov. Mike Kehoe has until Monday, June 30, to sign or veto items.
