Rural Health Day Comes To 4 Missouri Communities This Year
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services’ Office of Rural Health and Primary Care will host the annual Missouri Rural Health Day celebration on Thursday, Nov. 19, to honor the dedication and resilience of rural health professionals, organizations and communities in rural Missouri.
Missouri Rural Health Day promotes the “Power of Rural” and the ongoing efforts to communicate, educate, collaborate and innovate to improve the health of rural Missourians.
To allow more people to take part, this year’s celebration will be held at four locations:
- Jefferson City: Roy Blunt Center for Integration & Innovation, 3450 W. Edgewood Drive, hosted by ORHPC and the Missouri Primary Care Association
- Carrollton: Carrollton Public Library, 1 N. Folger St., hosted by Carroll County Memorial Hospital
- Sikeston: Missouri Bootheel Regional Consortium offices, 941 S. Kingshighway, hosted by the consortium
- Richland: First Baptist Church of Richland, 101 N. Pine St., hosted by Central Ozarks Medical Center
Check-in and networking begin at 8:30 a.m., with programming from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is open to individuals from hospitals, clinics, associations, state agencies, community groups, legislators and anyone interested in rural health. There is no registration fee, and parking and lunch are free.
