MHA Distributes Analysis For Proposed Updates To CY 2026 Medicare Home Health PPS

MHA published an analysis that illustrates the financial effect of the calendar year 2026 Medicare Home Health PPS proposed rule. The analysis, which is available online for authorized users of HIDI Advantage^® includes a summary for the nation, Missouri and individual hospitals. The financial implications include effects of the CY 2026 updates to the market basket, the productivity adjustment reduction mandated by the ACA, changes to the Home Health Resource Group case-mix budget neutrality and changes to the wage index. The effect of the proposed home health rule will decrease payments in Missouri by an estimated 5.41%. Although footnoted, the analysis does not include the effect of the 2% sequestration. Hospitals have until Friday, Aug. 29, to review their hospital-specific data and submit comments.
