CMS Proposes Changes To Health Insurance Marketplace
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued a Notice of Benefit and Payment Parameters proposed rule that will set the standards for the health insurance marketplace in 2027.
The rule would strengthen regulations on marketing practices, mandate a standard eligibility application, restore certain aspects of network adequacy authority back to the states using state-based exchanges, revise special enrollment periods and change the user fees charged to participating insurers.
CMS is accepting comments on the proposed rule through Friday, March 13. MHA published an issue brief with additional information.
