CMS Issues FY 2026 Final Medicare Hospice, IRF And IPF PPS Payment And Policy Updates
CMS released federal fiscal year 2026 Medicare hospice, inpatient rehabilitation and inpatient psychiatric PPS proposed payment and policy updates. Highlights of the rules include the following.
- Rate increase of 3.3%; 2.6% after accounting for a 0.7% productivity adjustment
- IRF quality reporting program updates
- Updates to the outlier threshold to maintain outlier payments at 3.0% of the total
- Annual updates to prospective payment rates, wage index, case-mix group relative weights and average length of stay values
- Rate increase of 3.2%; 2.5% after accounting for a 0.7% productivity adjustment
- Updates to the outlier threshold to maintain outlier payments at 2.0% of the total
- IPF quality reporting program updates
- Rate increase of 3.3%; 2.6% after accounting for a 0.7% productivity adjustment
- Hospice quality reporting program updates
