UnitedHealthcare Eliminates Prior Authorization Requirements For 1,700 Services
UnitedHealthcare released a list of approximately 1,700 procedure codes that will be exempt from prior authorization requirements beginning Thursday, Oct. 1. The change applies to commercial, Medicare Advantage, individual marketplace and certain Medicaid plans. The elimination of prior authorization requirements for these services is part of UnitedHealthcare’s broader commitment to reduce prior authorization requirements by 30% before the end of 2026.
