More than 15,600 students from 25 states explored the world of health care careers — all from the comfort of their classrooms — during the fifth annual Health Care Career Day on Feb. 27.

Hosted by the Missouri Chamber Foundation, Missouri Hospital Association, and Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the virtual event continues to play a key role in building a stronger health care workforce pipeline.

“Health Care Career Day helps students see the incredible variety of opportunities that exist in health care,” said Jill Williams, MHA’s vice president of workforce development. “By connecting classrooms with hospitals and health professionals across Missouri, we are helping students explore the many career pathways available and inspiring the next generation of the health care workforce.”

Missouri hospitals and health systems once again served as essential partners, showcasing the wide range of career paths available in today’s health care industry. Participants included the following.

  • BJC HealthCare
  • Boone Health
  • Bothwell Regional Health Center
  • Children’s Mercy
  • Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare
  • MU Health Care
  • Ozarks Healthcare
  • Scotland County Hospital
  • University Health

Mosaic Life Care also shared a session highlighting the front-line heroes of health care.

If you missed the event, you can view the highlight video from the Missouri Chamber or watch the full playlist of sessions. A sincere thanks to all of the partners and sponsors who made this event possible.

MHA offers a variety of workforce resources to support member hospitals with planning, recruitment, retention and workforce development strategies. Additionally, the Missouri Health Careers platform provides students and career‑seekers with information about the diverse opportunities available in health care.
