MO HealthNet Announces Updates To ASAM Level Of Care 4 Criteria For IMDs
Effective Monday, Dec. 1, psychiatric hospitals that meet the definition of an Institution for Mental Disease, subject to the terms of the 1115 SMI/SED/SUD waiver, must align with American Society of Addiction Medicine Criteria, 4th Edition, Level of Care 4, Medically Managed Intensive Inpatient Services.
The MO HealthNet Division is making this change to comply with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ waiver terms and conditions. If the change is not made, Missouri is at risk of losing matching federal funds for services provided in IMDs.
