MHA Reminds Hospitals To Update EMResource As Influenza Activity Increases

Staff Contact: Kara Amann

Recent data from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show continued growth in influenza activity. In the latest week, the following data was reported.

  • Missouri reported 8,986 flu cases (up from 5,876).
  • Hospital admissions rose to 384 (up from 111).
  • Influenza‑like illness accounted for 11.1% of emergency department visits (baseline: 2.4%).

MHA is monitoring these trends and will share updates as needed.

With respiratory virus activity rising, hospitals are urged to review their status and make appropriate updates and maintain situational awareness in the seasonal RVI Operational Impact Status in EMResource. Accurate, timely reporting helps identify operational challenges early and ensures hospitals receive appropriate support.
