MHA Distributes Analysis Of Proposed Medicare Inpatient PPS For FFY 2027

Staff Contact: Andrew Wheeler

The Missouri Hospital Association published a summary and analysis of the federal fiscal year 2027 Inpatient Prospective Payment System proposed payment and policy updates. Hospitals have until Tuesday, June 9, to review their hospital-specific data and submit comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The analysis includes the financial effects of market basket updates, reductions mandated by the Affordable Care Act, coding adjustments, quality-based payment adjustments and changes to the wage index. Hospitals in Missouri should expect an estimated 0.2% decrease in IPPS payments.

Results are illustrated in national, Missouri, health system and individual hospital groupings. Policy and analytic studies, prepared for distribution by the Hospital Industry Data Institute, are available for download to authorized users of HIDI Advantage®.
