DOE Issues Final Rule On Updated Definition of “Professional Student”
The Department of Education released a final rule on April 30 to define “professional student” and “graduate student,” which determines federal student loan amounts. Several health care professions, such as advanced practice nurses, physician assistants and physical therapists, are excluded from the final definition.
