CDC Offers Training Resources For Addressing Substance Use Among Adolescents
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention developed new training resources to provide clinicians with effective approaches for addressing substance use among adolescents. Upon completion of the training modules, clinicians can earn free continuing education credits through CDC TRAIN.
The Addressing Adolescent Substance Use training module uses a patient case model to explore how to identify, assess and address adolescent substance use. Key topics include screening, engaging in a brief intervention, assessing risk factors, diagnosis, treatment planning, talking with family and follow-up care.
This Addressing Adolescent Substance Use clinician pathway tool is designed to help guide clinical decision-making with adolescent patients from screening through diagnosis and treatment considerations.
The Missouri Hospital Association is a nonprofit association in Jefferson City that represents 136 Missouri hospitals.
