Shaping Regulations and Defining Guiding Principles
Regulations shape how hospitals and health systems operate, impacting compliance, patient care and financial sustainability. MHA provides updates, guidance and resources to help Missouri hospitals navigate evolving regulatory requirements at the state and federal levels. By remaining informed, hospital leaders can ensure compliance, mitigate risks and advocate for policies that support effective health care delivery.
Quantifying the Cost of Compliance
MHA works to quantify the monetary, staff and health outcome cost of compliance due to time away from patient care using data, research and analysis to support advocacy.
Data Collection for Hospital Licensure
Data provided by Missouri hospitals each year plays a vital role in shaping health care for Missourians. A collaborative effort between the Missouri Hospital Association, American Hospital Association, and Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the Annual Licensing Survey is a critical data collection effort facilitated through the Hospital Industry Data Institute required for hospital licensure and financial reporting under 19 CSR 10-33.030. At the same time, this survey data benefits hospitals and their patients far beyond its role in regulatory compliance.
