Overview

Kansas City is proud to be a host city for the FIFA World Cup 26™. While hospitals and health care systems in the Kansas City area have been actively preparing for the year ahead, this webinar will give all Missouri and Kansas hospitals an opportunity to learn about how this event will impact the Kansas City region and beyond.

KC2026 partnered with The University of Kansas Health System to serve as the Official Medical Services Provider for the Kansas City World Cup 2026 Host City. This partnership builds on planning efforts already underway and will expand regional coordination in several important areas.

During this webinar, Pam Kramer, CEO of KC2026, and Host City Health and Medical co-leads Bryan Beaver, M.D., and Erica Carney, M.D., will discuss health care planning for the World Cup events coming to the Midwest. Our regional strength lies in our unique ability to collaborate, and your hospital’s engagement will help us collectively support the health and medical needs for our region during the FIFA World Cup 26™ in Kansas City.

The webinar will discuss our readiness for this global event and will cover:

  • KC2026 overview of current planning, timelines and approach to health care planning
  • Dec. 5 final draw matchup results and implications
  • roles and responsibilities
  • key planning area updates:
    • capacity utilization and infrastructure
    • hospital EMS coordination
    • visitor communication and education about health care
  • health care planning topics
