Overview

MHA sponsored a selected group of 12 hospital care providers in 2025 on their journey to earn Green Belts through the A3 Solutions Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Program. Lean Six Sigma is a performance improvement methodology that relies on collaborative team effort to improve performance by removing waste and reducing variation.

Staff from the 12 hospitals will present their organization's LSS Green Belt project summaries, and discuss their process to support key patient safety and quality improvement initiatives. Join us for this virtual event showcasing the dedicated work by each organization to enhance the quality of health care.

Objectives

The Lean Six Sigma Cohorts will present their project summaries focusing on the following key objectives:

  • describe techniques used to improve medication reconciliation processes
  • identify effective fall risk interventions
  • discuss strategies to ensure patients receive timely discharge medications
  • recognize approaches to improving high-risk medication handoffs
  • evaluate methods for enhancing time-critical medication administration
  • identify strategies that support better nutrition education during NICU discharges
  • discuss process improvements for transport team handoffs involving lines, drains and airways
