Shaping Health Care Policy in Missouri
MHA actively engages in state legislative and regulatory advocacy to ensure Missouri hospitals and health systems have a strong voice in shaping health care policy. Working with the Missouri General Assembly and state agencies, we advocate for policies supporting hospitals, improving patient care and strengthening health care delivery systems. Through legislative engagement, regulatory influence and member collaboration, we work to protect and advance Missouri’s health care infrastructure.

2025 Legislative Session Summary
Our 2025 Legislative Session Summary reviews the outcomes of various legislative proposals that impact Missouri hospitals and health care providers. This summary helps hospitals stay informed on policy changes, funding adjustments and new regulatory requirements affecting the industry.
The governor has until Monday, July 14, to sign or veto legislation passed during this year’s session. Legislation signed by the governor will take effect Thursday, Aug. 28, unless it includes an emergency clause prompting earlier enactment.
