Our Advocacy Efforts
We work closely with the Missouri General Assembly to advocate for state-level policies that strengthen hospital operations, improve patient outcomes and support health care accessibility. By engaging with lawmakers and state agencies, MHA ensures that hospitals have a voice in shaping the landscape of Missouri health care.
Through collaboration with the AHA, MHA participates in federal advocacy efforts to influence national health care policies, reimbursement structures and funding initiatives. Our work at the federal level helps Missouri hospitals navigate complex legislative challenges and secure critical resources.
MHA’s governmental relations team interacts with federal and state agencies to shape regulatory policies affecting hospitals. We analyze proposed rules, provide feedback to policymakers, and help hospitals understand and comply with evolving regulations.
MHA’s political action committee, HEALTHPAC, and our partnership with the American Hospital Association Political Action Committee (AHAPAC) are the most effective ways to ensure hospitals have a united voice when decisions are made impacting the delivery of health care in Missouri. These efforts support candidates and policies that prioritize health care needs across the state and throughout the nation.
