A Learning and Action Network is an improvement initiative that brings together health care professionals, patients and other stakeholders around an evidence-based agenda to achieve rapid, widescale improvement. The LAN model includes collaborative projects, online interactions and peer-to-peer education to facilitate shared commitment, energy and knowledge that allows participants to learn from each other.

Maternal-Child Learning Action Network
The Maternal and Child Learning Action Network provides guidance, knowledge-sharing and peer support in developing strategic quality initiatives based on the Triple Aim principles of improving and evaluating perinatal quality and population-based programs. The MC LAN provides strategic guidance and focus of high-value opportunities to improve clinical, operational and outcome performance, and to develop collaborative partnerships to achieve these aims. In addition, the committee partners with the communities they serve to achieve better communication, and educate and impact the public on quality and safety initiatives of the health care community. This committee meets three times a year with additional virtual platform meetings as needed.

Missouri Rural Health Learning and Action Network
The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the existing challenges and unveiled new issues in rural health care delivery. Leaders throughout the state have expressed the desire to drive innovation, build partnerships and engage patients in their care post-pandemic to sustain a strong rural health system.
To facilitate these important conversations, MHA invites you to participate in the Missouri Rural Health Learning and Action Network. The purpose of the group is to intentionally discuss each stakeholder’s respective priorities. Through highlighting services and resources that already exist, we can leverage our combined resources to execute our strategic direction for sustaining rural health care. Invitees include representatives from organizations across the continuum of patient care. The ultimate goal is to leverage our combined resources to execute our strategic direction for sustaining rural health care.
